It's Friday! I made it through my first week of classes. How are you guys doing? Like I said in my previous post, busy Feyi is back. This school year, I am the president of my school's African Students' Association, magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, and secretary for National Association of Black Journalists. Let's just say "busy" is an understatement. Even though I  have all these roles to play as well as a college student with classes, exams, projects, I am still going to play the role of blogger. I started this blog as a hobby and I enjoy blogging (it’s almost therapeutic) therefore I'm not going to stop. I may not post as much as I did during the summer but the posts will keep coming.

Today, I met up with my fellow blogger buddy and we shot some looks. There is nothing better than finding someone with the same or similar creative vision as you. Arriel is that person! I love shooting with her. It's so easy and effortless. From the title, you can gather today's outfit is all about the graphic tee and a pop of color.  When it comes to college fashion, I like to be comfortable. I spend a lot of my time running around campus, so comfort is key! My go-to outfit, when it's warmer outside is a t-shirt and  a pair of shorts. The best way to pull off bright colors is to make sure the rest of the outfit is neutral with denim, white, black or grey pieces. Which is exactly what I did!

Goodbye, Summer. It's Been Real - Playlist

20:11:00
It has been exactly 12 days since I pressed “publish” on my computer and I truly apologize for that. I’m going to blame it on the back to school blues. I have finally accepted that summer is over *cue the sad violin music*. Today was my second day of classes. I can officially say busy Feyi is back in business. I took a break from unpacking, decorating my room and finishing my homework to share this playlist with you amazing people of the inter webs. This playlists consists of some songs that got me through the summer and are mentally preparing me for the fall. Alrighty, I need to get back to reading a 30-page scholarly article about human rights and international law. Deuces!

Doesn't Get Anymore Basic Than This

09:05:00
T-shirt - Ralph Lauren | Jeans - ASOS Tall | Denim Shirt - Target | Sandals - Marc Fisher

White tee, black jeans, and a shirt around your waist. Yep! Doesn't get anymore basic than this. I threw this outfit together on the only day I got to explore DC, last week during my journalism convention. You guys already got a glimpse of this outfit in my previous post. Even though this outfit is very basic, I love it. Basic equals simple and simple tends to be comfortable, which is what I was going for. I hope you are all having a great Friday. Right now, I am babysitting my little cousin and she is making it impossible to write this post. As I am typing this sentence, she is shoving her Barbie in my face. I guess, I have to go play with some Barbies. Bye!

Washington, DC | Travel Diary

09:29:00

Last week, I was chilling with the Obamas in the White House. I wish! Well… I was near the the White House. Does that count? I was in DC for a journalism convention. The National Association of Black Journalists & National Association of Hispanic Journalists convention. It was the first time both associations hosted a convention together and it was amazing to see so many people of color in the media field come together. Amazing! I am not going to bore you with details about the seminars and workshops but I am extremely glad I got to go and learn about a field I hope to make a career out off. Hilary Clinton spoke at this event but I missed it... Just my luck.😑 We stayed at the Marriott Wardman Park. Which is a gorgeous hotel but I have to let you guys know, my friends and I found a mouse in our room. It was horrifying. When we ran out of our room to report this to the hotel staff, we walked by some people who also looked horrified and we found out they also had a mouse in their room. A couple of the rooms on the first floor had a mouse problem. I am not one to be negative but if you are in DC, I would not recommend the Marriott Wardman Park. The sad thing is everything else in the hotel was amazing from the staff, service, rooms, bar, etc. What can I say? One thing can ruin everything else.

Anyways… enough mouse talk. DC was amazing. My friend Arriel and I only had one day to do “touristy” things. We hit up the main sites. The White House, Washington Monument, and Abraham Lincoln Memorial, which are all walking distance from one another. This was great because we did not have cars. I also got to meet up with one of my close friends from college that graduated a while back and is working in DC being an adult and killing it. I’m so proud of her. All in all, DC was great from the architecture to their crazy one-way roads. I am definitely going back in the future.
