Wake up, Keep Dreaming - Playlist

Gif via Google

Hey people! I realized it has been a while since I shared my current soundcloud finds. I love finding new music especially before it blows up. This playlist is a mixture of mainstream and some very underground music. I have been listening to A LOT of Goldlink. I first heard his stuff last summer but he has been getting a lot more of recognition and I’m so happy for him. Another artist you should check out is LΓ‘sko. He reached out to me and I listened to his music. I like his sound. It gives me early Childish Gambino and Kyle vibes. Listen, relax and enjoy!

What To Do With Your Dress After Graduation?

You’ve graduated or are about to graduate. Yay, congratulations!!! We could talk about what the future holds? What your plans are for life after college? But let’s be honest, we all hate talking about that and hearing the dreadful question, “So, what’s next?”. Trust me, I know the feeling. Instead of dwelling on the mini panic attack I get when people ask me about my future plans (which are still in the development stages, VERY early development stages) let’s talk about your graduation dress. I know, random. But, hey! What better way to avoid real life responsibilities than talking about clothes.

What I am about to tell you does not only apply for graduation dresses but any formal dress, you got for a special occasion. That dress you thought you would only wear once. A-ha! That is where you are wrong. As you can see from my outfit, you can turn your graduation dress hanging in your closet collecting dust into an everyday casual look. The trick is layering! Throwing a denim jacket or an oversized sweater over your dress instantly gives the whole outfit a relaxed feel. Add on your favorite pair of sneakers and you are good to go. It is honestly that simple! I graduate in December and once I finally buy my graduation dress (procrastinating per usual), I will definitely be recreating this.

OUTFITS OF THE WEEK | Back To School (College)

Some outfits from my first week back in college. Enjoy!

New Orleans Travel Dairy | An Afternoon In The French Quarter

After weeks of procrastinating, I finally finished editing my pictures from my trip to New Orleans. I went to the National Association of Black Journalists conference with some friends from college. It was wonderful. We learned a lot from inspiring men and women in the media field. Besides going to seminars and workshops, we got an afternoon to explore New Orleans and walk around the French Quarter. We explored some parts of the city and I got to take some really cool shots of my friends. I didn’t think I would fall in love with NOLA the way I did. Jazz playing from every corner, people walking around tipsy and extremely friendly (thanks to the liquor). It was freshening to be in a city where everyone was in a great mood. We were there when the Red Dress Run was taking place. There were a lot of people from across the country wearing red dresses (men included). We were told it is a great charity event and another excuse for people to get drunk. Even though we spent a few days in NOLA. She definitely has a place in my heart. I’ll be back. Trust me!

Strolling along the Riverwalk, which was right behind our hotel. We stayed at the Hilton!

Travel Tips & Essentials | Things You Should Know Before Flying Alone

A few travel tips and tricks, I live by. Enjoy!

A Day In The Office

Let me start by saying, I do not have an office or work space. As bloggers our office is anywhere with wifi connection. One of the reasons I love doing what I do. I can work from almost anywhere. Although not having somewhere stable to work from can cause distractions. Maybe one day I’ll get an actual office but for right now I’m cool with what I got. Since, I am a college student, my “work life” consists of studying, blogging and my internship.

A typical summer day in the “office” starts of with me waking up and scrolling through Instagram and responding to DMs. Then I drag myself to the kitchen to make some coffee. Since, it’s summer I make iced coffee (more creamer than coffee to be honest teehee I have a sweet tooth). While I sip my coffee I reply my emails. Emails mostly consist of future collaborations and partnerships with brands. I do not say yes to every brand proposal. The brands I do work with I love hearing their ideas and creative directions. I also send out emails to brands and bloggers I would like to work with. After checking my emails, I take a shower and get dressed.

What I wear depends on the type of content I am going to produce that day. If I am filming a youtube video I only look nice from the waist up. No one can see my legs when I’m filming (deceiving I know). If I am shooting an outfit post, I try a little harder from my head to toes. Some days, I wear sweatpants and a baggy shirt because I am only writing, editing or behind the camera. So no one will know how awful I really look (perks of working from home). That’s my typical summer work day. Things definitely change when I get back to school and I’m starting a new internship with my school’s communication department. I can’t wait! What about you guys? What’s your typical work or school day?

Another look from my Canadian adventures! Today we explored downtown Toronto. We went to the Aquarium, which is right next to the CN tower. I managed to get a couple shots of my outfit. Thanks to my little cousin, Ivie. I didn’t think it would be so crowded because we went on a weekday but ohhhh was I wrong. There were so many people but we still had fun!
